Partakers of the Promise
The Feast of Epiphany is a single day, January 6, followed by the season of Epiphany. This time is a celebration of the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles, as typified in the Magi from the far East being led to worship the newborn King in Bethlehem. God has been extending his grace in Christ to everyone ever since then. The mystery of the gospel is that the Christ came for all peoples, not just the Jews. “This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel” (Ephesians 3:5–6). On the Sundays of Epiphany season, we will look at various passages, but our overall theme will be centered around what it means to be a partaker of the promise in Christ.
