The Way of Humility

This Lent we will be considering the virtuous life, specifically looking at the four Cardinal Virtues (Prudence, Temperance, Justice, Fortitude) and the three Theological Virtues (Faith, Hope, Love). This series will require humility, hence the title. Just as pride is the root of the vices, humility is the root of the virtues. We will humble ourselves to look closely at God's good character and ask him to form virtue in us. We will be careful not to fall into a "works rigtheousness" theology of saving ourselves. Yet, Scripture often exhorts us to put off the old sinful self and put on Christ's character.
