Thankfullness

Since November holds our Thanksgiving holiday, we are doing a 3-week sermon series on thankfulness to finish out the liturgical year and lead us into Advent. In Philippians, the writer, Paul, is so effusive with gratitude we can almost forget that he is suffering in prison. The Gospel of Jesus is such a gift that even the sufferings of this life can be turned into thanksgiving. The Bible is full of references and commands to give thanks. Cultivating an attitude of gratitude can help anyone overcome setbacks and hardships. God is worthy of our praise and we are to enter his gates with thanksgiving.
