Philippians: Having The Mind Of Christ

Paul's letter to the Philippians reveals the depths of the mystery of the Gospel: the incarnation, crucifixion, and glorification of Jesus Christ (2:5-11). He clearly presents the good news that we are saved by grace and not works (3:1-11). And yet the letter is also imminently practical, addressing how to set priorities (1:9-11), living as citizens of the heavenly kingdom (1:27-30), relating to one another in Christ (2:1-4), dealing with conflict (4:2-9), and following the example of Christ, Paul, and his fellow workers. The intersection of this deep theology and practical exhortation is what Paul calls "the mind of Christ." The mind of Christ is seen in His sacrificial love as he accomplished our redemption, and this mind is given to us as the power and pattern of the Christian life. Join us this Sunday.
