Light Shines in the Darkness

An epiphany, in common use, means a striking or sudden discovery. In Christian theology it is the manifestation of Christ to the gentiles as typified in the Magi. The Gospel is for all people and often comes with sudden joy. The Magi certainly found the arrival of the King of kings to be a striking discovery, an epiphany. Two millennia later, God is still revealing himself to people in new ways through his word. The sermon series will follow the lectionary texts for the Epiphany season. We’ll explore interesting passages such as God’s voice in the night to the boy Samuel, and Christ’s glorious transfiguration on the mount with Moses and Elijah.
