Jesus Made Known

The season of Epiphany is an annual recognition that God's revelation of himself is specific in Jesus Christ. Unless he chose to come forth we would not know very much about God. The word "epiphany" literally means appearing or manifestation. In our part of the Christian world, we tie this to the Magi, the Wise Men in the far east, seeing the star that marked the birth of Christ Jesus. For most of us with Gentile roots, it is a great gift that Jesus came for all people, not just the Jews. The Good News has been proclaimed to everyone for 2,000 years and counting. This season is an appropriate time to highlight the global mission work Christians are called to do, and to make every effort to give testimony to the love of God demonstrated in Christ's ministry.
