I Peter - Living as Sojourners in a Strange Land

This Easter season, we will be following the prescribed lectionary readings with a special focus on the New Testament selections from the Apostle Peter's first epistle to the church at large. He was writing to a church scattered throughout the known world, which often misunderstood and mistreated Christians. Even today, the church must live in a world at odds. Yet God has given his people a living hope which sustains through every trial. Although American Christians may not face the same persecutions as believers elsewhere, the church lives in conflict with the values and behaviors of secular society. In Christ, there is the grace, the example, and the motivation to live a different kind of life. Jesus calls the believer into a glorious new life that is transforming the world around us. Join us the Sundays following Easter as we listen to the writing of the Apostle upon whom Jesus promised to build his church.
