An Immovable Kingdom
The kingdom of God is not in trouble. Many things seem very unstable in our lives. Whether it's personal things like health, job security, relationships, finances, etc. or more public things like national politics or conflicts at the bishop level, there is much that feels unstable presently. Thankfully, because of the resurrection, ascension and lordship of Jesus' reign, the Kingdom of God is perfectly stable and a solid place on which to stand. Jesus even used the analogy of a house built on rock compared with sand. When (not if) the storms come, the house built on his words will withstand the storm. For "Eastertide" (meaning the season immediately following Easter Sunday), we will be preaching on Scripture passages related to this immovable kingdom. It is the failure to embrace the truth of Jesus that leads to our fears. He commands us not to be anxious and for good reason. For those who have placed their lives in Jesus' merciful hands and live according to his word, life is perfectly secure. Please make a commitment to the Lord to worship him every Sunday, building your life on his truth.
