Why Membership Matters
We are so glad you are considering Grace Anglican as your church home. Membership in a church is not only God’s expectation for all of his people, it is also a great gift. Choosing to be an active member at Grace will strengthen your faith and nourish your relationship with the Lord. It will help you become more like Christ and also contribute to the strengthening of the body of Christ (his church) as you use your gifts to serve here.
We worship in the “Great Tradition” of Christianity that has proven fruitfulness going back to the first century. The Anglican Way is designed to be formative to your soul. As with many things in life, what you put in will influence what you get out. In choosing to be an active member, you will be coming alongside a congregation that is willing to stand on the authority of the Bible. Back in 2006, they were willing to walk away from a comfortable campus because the prior denominational leadership had abandoned the clear teaching of Scripture. Learn more about our story here. To be a member here is to take part in a strong legacy of faithfulness.
How to Be A Member
Membership in a church is a matter of the heart more than a formality. We want you to join us in living out your faith actively as a part of our faith community. Therefore, to be a member you simply start behaving like a member. The Discipleship Pathway defines four basic behaviors that all members pursue to live as Christ modeled for us. Our Membership Course will explain our Discipleship Pathway and what it looks like to actively live out your faith. We hope you will move closer to Christ and his community at Grace Anglican. See the graphic below, which outlines the steps you could take.
Let Peter’s words inspire you when he rhetorically said to Jesus, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:68). Don’t put off membership any longer. Get connected! Beyond the Basics
When you’re ready to learn more, you are encouraged to attend the Catechism Class offered in the fall & spring. It’s called “To Be a Christian” and is an Anglican catechism. This class will help you articulate what all true Christians believe, and it will spur you on in your love for God and others. This class is for all members of Grace Anglican Church, especially those who are new to Christianity and those who desire to be confirmed by our Bishop (he comes yearly in August).
